Dr. Bukola Williams

MBBS, Cert LMIH, UKAAN

Dr. Williams is the Principal Medical Officer (PMO)/ Clinical Director at Synapse Abuja where he provides clinical and administrative leadership. He is an alumnus of BUK.
He has special interest and specialisation in management of adult ADHD and obtained his training at Kings College, London and is UKAAN-certified. He is also internationally certified in the application of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and has a case report published by the Royal College of Psychiatrist London and the International Neuromodulation Society World Congress.
His hobbies include writing, supporting the less privileged and building leadership systems and structures.





Dr. Chinyelu Ada Ikeako

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Ikeako is an American Board certified psychiatrist.
She completed a residency in general psychiatry at Columbia University at Harlem hospital center, New York in 2010 and went on to complete an addiction psychiatry fellowship sub specialization at Mount Sinai hospital and the Bronx Veterans Affairs hospital in New York.
She brings her years of experience, undiluted passion and clinical strength into the work here at Synapse.











Dr. Modebelu Ifunanya

Dr. Modebelu Ifunanya Chioma is a Senior Medical Officer at Synapse Services Awka (Oak Center). With a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, she possesses a strong medical background. Dr. Ifunanya has dedicated over two years to the mental health field, providing compassionate care to patients with various psychiatric disorders.
Her expertise extends beyond psychiatry, as she has accumulated several years of experience as a medical practitioner. This diverse background enables her to approach patient care holistically, considering both physical and mental health aspects. Dr. Ifunanya excels in recognizing the intricate connections between these factors, ensuring comprehensive treatment for her patients.
At Synapse Services Awka, Oak Center, Dr. Ifunanya provides exceptional psychiatric care. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, she develops personalized treatment plans based on evidence-based interventions. Dr. Vivian Amuka

Compassionate and purpose-driven Mental Health Practitioner and licensed Medical Doctor with over two years of experience delivering comprehensive mental health and psychosocial support services across clinical and community settings. Passionate about improving the lives of individuals affected by mental health conditions through evidence-based assessments, treatment, counselling, psychoeducation, and coordinated referrals. Dedicated to providing person-centred, culturally sensitive care that promotes recovery, resilience, and dignity.

A strong advocate for mental health promotion and community wellbeing, with experience planning and delivering mental health awareness presentations, psychoeducation sessions, and advocacy initiatives that reduce stigma, improve mental health literacy, and encourage timely access to care. Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, high-quality mental health services and achieve meaningful outcomes for individuals and communities.

With over eight years of clinical medical experience and ongoing Master of Public Health (MPH) training, committed to strengthening mental health systems, advancing equitable access to quality care, and contributing to humanitarian and development programs that empower and improve the wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and communities.


Dr John Ojanomare

Dr. Ojanomare john is a dedicated medical officer with experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health disorders.

Passionate about delivering compassionate, evidence-based care, Dr. Ojanomare john is committed to promoting mental wellness and improving patients’ quality of life through a holistic, patient-centered approach. Their clinical interests include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, addiction psychiatry, and community mental health.

He is also actively involved in mental health advocacy, education, and the continuous advancement of psychiatric practice.

















Dr. Umoru Emmanuel

MB;BS(EBSUTH). Hail from Kogi state.

Senior Medical Officer at Synapse Magnolia. A hardworking, dedicated and compassionate medical practitioner with key interest in mental health especially Schizophrenia, Mood disorders, Anxiety disorders and Substance use disorders(SUDs) among others.

Develop individualized treatment plan based on the case and patient need. A team-player who work closely with multidisciplinary team to render quality service to patients and carefully ensure their follow up and well being.

Hobbies include: reading, watching football, playing football and table tennis.


















Sarah Bassey

Sarah Bassey Otu hails from Cross River state of Nigeria and also an alumnus of Nasarawa state university keffi where she obtained a Bsc in psychology and Msc in clinical psychology respectively.
As a clinical psychologist, her interest includes, managing couples (couple therapy), managing SUDs, conflict Resolution, applied behavioral analysis (ABA) also she assists clients in identifying problems such as emotional, behavioral and mental status of their lives and proffering therapeutic solutions. However, her strength/ skills includes showing empathy, person-centered approach, excellent listening skills amongst others.
She is dedicated to her profession.
Her hobbies includes, learning new things, traveling, listening to music and adventure.





Nnorom Ifenna

Ifenna is an alumnus of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka where he obtained his M.Sc. Clinical Psychology and B.Sc. Psychology degrees respectively.
Ifenna is currently a clinical psychologist at Synapse Services, Awka. His major interests and strengths cuts across management of mental illnesses, substance use disorder management and gambling disorder management.
His hobbies include reading, listening to gospel music and trading.










Amanda Omozuwa

Amanda Omozuwa is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in trauma recovery, emotional regulation, addiction, and psychological resilience. She works with individuals, couples, and families using evidence-based and integrative approaches that blend clinical rigor with somatic, emotional, and cognitive healing.

Her practice supports clients navigating depression, anxiety, attachment wounds, childhood trauma, identity development, addiction, relational challenges, and major life transitions. Amanda is deeply committed to breaking mental health stigma particularly within African and global communities and creating therapy spaces grounded in compassion, structure, and psychological depth.

Her philosophy: Healing is not about fixing what is broken, but healing the mind that believed it was.

Obi Peters Chuks

Obi Peters Chuks is a passionate Behavioural/ Clinical psychologist, trauma based intervention psychologist and a mental health advocate with a vast experience in behavioural change intervention , communication, Mental Health&Psychosocial Support, and Research writing which has been carried out with high intergrity and aplomb.

He works on/ with individuals facing a wide variety of mental health challenges like dependence/addiction (alcohol, illicit and licit drug misuse/abuse), depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, behavioural disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorder and other psychological related disorder. He uses evidence based approaches/ intervention to provide effective care which is client/patient centered.

Peters provide a safe and non-judgemental space guarded by the ethics of confidentiality and all other ethical practices where the client feels supported, with their feelings validated. With a strong passion for mental health advocacy, he has been helping the public understand the concept of mental health where people can also be an advocate of mental health, based on evidence based treatment.

Kimberly Boardman

Kimberly Boardman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over four years of experience dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of addiction and mental health. Specializing in substance use, gambling addiction, and sex addiction, Providing a non-judgmental, evidence-based space for clients to deconstruct compulsive behaviors and reclaim their lives.

Beyond specialization in addictive disorders, they work extensively with a broad range of mental health like depression, anxiety, stress, relationship. Etc.. challenges, tailoring their therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of every individual. she is committed to fostering a collaborative environment where healing is rooted in insight, resilience, and sustainable change.






Regina Ejeghren

Ejeghren Regina is a dedicated and hard working nurse who Graduated from university of portharcourt with a BSC in nursing.
Regina is a registered nurse, midwife and registered public health nurse. Also a certified family planning provider from PPFN with vast experience in medical and psychiatric field. Her hobbies are reading and watching moives.














Joanne Nnenna Okoro

Joan is currently the Assistant Service Manager, Synapse Abuja. She brings with her verse experience in Customer Service and Administration especially in the field of Mental Health.
She is an alumnus of Abia state University where she obtained a B.Sc in Education Physics, and the National Open University where she bagged a PGD in Mass Communication.
Joan’s strength in her work includes warmth and friendliness, being proactive, crisis management, and providing support to families of recovering patients and clients. Her hobbies are reading, sharing knowledge, an arts and beauty enthusiast.
